I’m a huge lover of travel (and a sucker for anything tourist-y) so when I went to Rome last June we had to visit all the tourist sights. We managed to cover quite a lot in our 4 days there, including The Vatican, The Coliseum, The Pantheon, Spanish Steps, St Peters Basilica (although we were close to not being admitted because my dress was ‘too short’ – I was in a summer dress, it was 34 degrees!) But on a serious note to any future travellers, they like your shoulders and knees covered… The Sistine Chapel and of course the Trevi Fountain. I was so excited for this particular monument because I know how beautiful it can look lit up at night, but sadly when we turned arrived it was covered in scaffolding due to repair works being carried out. It was a real ‘ta da! Oh’ moment, but it certainly didn’t ruin the evening. We found a lovely local restaurant down a quaint cobble street to feast in that night, with some of the best food I have ever tasted. Italian, local and home-made, it ticked every single box and wasn’t overly expensive either. Here’s a few pictures from our trip. Have any of you found hidden gem’s in Rome?
