Brides The Show is an annual bridal event in partnership with Condé Nast Brides Magazine and last year took place at the Business Design Centre. It’s the only show that brings to magazine to life in ways you could never imagine – think oversized unicorns, carpets of flowers and an endless supply of pinterest-perfect wedding inspiration. This show is completely Instagram worthy, and if you’re a bride-to-be you need to get this event in your calendar asap. Brides The Show is a luxury event, meaning no stone is left unturned in the quest for bridal greatness. With a host of venues, designers, florists, photographers and cake couturiers all under one roof, it’s the perfect place to cross off your wedding to-do list in style.
2015 saw designer Jenny Packham showcase her SS16 collection on the Midsummer Nights Dream catwalk – exclusive to the Friday Preview night, which was a real treat. The Brides catwalk, styled and curated by Brides Magazine fashion director Bryony Toogood, then commenced with a Secret Garden theme. Flowers from By Appointment Only were strategically placed so the models could saunter between them, adding to that whimsical and fairy-like ambiance. Designers who’s gowns floated down the catwalk included some of the UK’s most sought after, including Suzanne Neville, Stephanie Allin, Charlie Brear, Katya Katya Shehurina and Sankyukta Shrestha.
There were also a host of other features for brides-to-be to get involved in, including the popular Imagination Room (where you could decorate your own eclairs with Maitre Choux) and the ‘On The Sofa’ sessions where you could hear from the experts themselves, including wedding planner Bruce Russell. There were also many ways to win fantastic prizes – the Cake Pop Wall was a great initiative whereby if you bought a cake pop (and they tasted amazing, so why wouldn’t you…) you could also be in with the chance of winning a prize depending on the colour of the stick. Ranging from a glass of sparkling wine from Nyetimber to your very own wedding dress, it made eating cake all the more exciting PLUS all profits went to charity, which in this case was the Teenage Cancer Trust. My friend and fellow bride-to-be even won an updo from hair sponsor Duck & Dry!
It’s safe to say Brides The Show is always a winner for bridal inspiration and finding the best luxury suppliers to help make your big day beautiful, so if you’re a bride-to be, or know someone who is, treat yourselves to the ultimate in bridal indulgence and pop along – your imagination will thank you for it.
