Upon entering the white panelled ballroom of the Corinthia Hotel, with intriguing purple carpet, it became apparent this was not just another Brides reader event. For some reason I felt like this one would stand out – and I was right. Every inch of the reader experience had been considered and although I’d expect nothing less from a leading bridal magazine, the Victorian splendour of the venue coupled with the quality of designers may have had something to do with it.
The fabulously fashionable evening kicked off with a catwalk that included a variety of London’s homegrown talent including: Sanyukta Shrethsa, Maids to Measure, Halfpenny London, Mirror Mirror Couture, Savin London and Katya Katya Shehurina to name a few. The catwalk was more an informal insight as the models meandered in and out of the guests who were sitting on elegantly decorated tables, allowing them to unprecedented access to the detail of each gown.
Bobbi Brown were doing the make-up whilst Michael Van Clarke were responsible for the hair and absolutely fell in love with one of their tousled braid creations – see pictures below for a peek!
