I have long been a fan of fashion illustration, so when I stumbled upon Megan Hess, I knew I had to somehow get my hands on her work. Hess, an Australian, has illustrated for some of the worlds most recognisable designers including Prada, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co, Givenchy, Vogue and Fendi – the list could go on.
Her illustrations are available in prints, scarves, cushions and most recently, books. When I realised she had a pop-up in Westfields and was doing a signing for her most recent release Paris, I had to attend. The pop-up features a display of her most iconic prints, information about her as an artist and ipads in which you can purchase the prints. The gallery layout is minimalist, which aids itself to showcasing her intricate work and is open until late December. The queue was stretching out the door when I arrived and demand was so high they ran out of books halfway through, so I waited for more and when they arrive I bought three. Because, why not.
The books themselves are packed full of gorgeous illustrations and would make a lovely gift – I got one for my friend as a Christmas present (signed of course!) and another to giveaway to one lucky follower.
If you’d like to WIN a signed copy of Megan Hess’s book Coco Chanel, then hop on over to my Instagram for all the details. The winner will be announced on Christmas day – not a bad present, ey? Click here for more information on how to enter. Good luck and Merry Christmas!
